Noise
It is recognised that working with young children can be a noisy and stressful job. Arrangements will be made for all staff to have regular breaks during the working day.
The noise level in a nursery can be very loud at times, with children shouting, crying or participating in noisy activities. Where a member of staff feels that the noise level is getting out of hand steps should be taken to reduce it. This may be done by sitting the children down and reading them a story or by offering quiet activities.
The children will in any event be expected to have a variety of experiences and to participate in both 'noisy' and 'quiet' activities during their time in the nursery.
If a member of staff is concerned with the noise level in any other working room they should bring this to the attention of the Officer in Charge who will deal with the situation.
